As a fashion editor, no time of the year brings me joy like sale season. The thrill of snagging top-notch pieces at a fraction of the price is always exhilarating. And the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale just happens to be the land of milk and honey when it comes to summer deals. This year, you can save a ton of money on, well, pretty much everything. You can check out the sale preview now and add your faves to your wishlist to make adding to cart a lot easier once the deals are available. In case you missed it, the sale lasts until August 6, but is broken into tiers based on your Nordstrom membership status. Here’s the what you need to know:

To help you wade through the sea of options, I’ve used my expertise to whittle down the list to only the best of the best, like Birkenstock’s classic Arizona sandals (now just $130, down from $170) and the cult-favorite Nordstrom Midnight pajamas (currently more than 30 percent off). So, without further ado, here are 25 sale picks I don’t plan on missing…and you shouldn’t either.

The It Bag of Summer ’23 Is Just $20, and It’s a ‘90s Minimalist’s Dream

Nordstrom

These chic leather boots add just the right amount of edge to any outfit. An inside zipper makes them easy to put on and pull off. Plus, they’re water-resistant so you don’t have to stress over unexpected rain storms ruining your new fave shoes.

Buy it ($130; $90)

Nordstrom

This is the first time ever that Nordstrom is including Birkenstocks in its Anniversary Sale, so be sure to add these classic Arizonas to cart ASAP (we predict they’re bound to sell out). As for sizing, Birks are available in only whole sizes, so if you’re between two I recommend rounding down. The straps are also fully adjustable so you can tighten or loosen them as you break them in.

Buy it ($170; $130)

Nordstrom

This cult-favorite tote can convert between two different sizes thanks to a middle panel that can zip in and out depending on how much carrying space you need. The material is also water-resistant and incredibly lightweight, making this bag a no-brainer for easy travel. Be sure to pick one up now, while it’s 30 percent off.

Buy it ($195; $130)

Nordstrom

Multiple PureWow editors have ranked these the absolute best faux-leather leggings on the market, so you can bet they’re going to sell out in a flash now that they’re $33 off. Reviewers note that they do run small, so you might want to consider going up one size from your usual. But otherwise, these leggings seem to be super comfortable, flattering and durable—a true triple threat.

Buy it ($98; $65)

Nordstrom

If it’s a new everyday handbag you’re after, this timeless Coach cutie should be top of your list. It can be worn as a crossbody or shoulder bag and has a zipper to safely secure your essentials within the singular compartment. Speaking of, there’s plenty of room to fit everything you might need for the day, including your phone, wallet, sunglasses, keys, lip balm, sunscreen and more.

Buy it ($295; $199)

Nordstrom

If the classic two-buckle Arizona isn’t really your vibe, I suggest checking out this slide-style Birkenstock instead. The single strap still offers tons of support and is adjustable, but has a cleaner, more elevated look than Briks’ traditional boho style. Plus, it comes with the brand’s signature cork insole that conforms to your feet the longer you wear them for added comfort and support.

Buy it ($150; $110)

Nordstrom

One PureWow editor deemed this carryall the “unsung hero” of her two-week vacation. That’s right, this popular weekender can be used for far longer trips than just a three-day getaway. The bag’s main compartment is roomy, with one large zippered pocket, two small zippered pockets and a Velcro-lined laptop sleeve inside. The opening of the bag is sturdy, with a wire frame built in that lets you prop it open to see everything inside. The real selling point is the spacious zippered compartment at the bottom of the bag, which is perfect for storing shoes, toiletry bags or even laundry.

Buy it ($108; $81)

Nordstrom

These best-selling pajamas are reportedly incredibly soft—like, unbelievably soft—and super lightweight to help keep you cool and comfortable from dusk til dawn. The dreamy fabric is also made from eco-friendly materials, and is both machine washable and dryer safe.

Buy It ($59; $41)

Nordstrom

Need to restock your top drawer? This subtly sexy bra is a consistent best-seller among PureWow readers, and it seems more than 3,500 Nordstrom reviewers would agree this bra is well worth stocking up on. Folks rave about how comfortable the Feathers bra is, despite its underwire design. And the lace/mesh overlay offers additional support without feeling bulky.

Buy It ($72; $48)

Nordstrom

Be sure to pick up this floaty cotton midi while you can to add to your rotation of perfect summer sundresses. In fact, we’d argue you could probably wear this dress three seasons out of the year (those in warmer climates might be able to wear it through winter, too) thanks to the seasonless black floral print. The real creme-de-la-creme however is the sweetheart neckline and delicate buttons on the bust that, combined, make this dress appear far more expensive than its true price tag—especially now, while it’s under $100.

Buy it ($148; $99)

Nordstrom

When they say “live in” they really mean it. These best-selling leggings have more than 7,000 reviews, with shoppers raving about how comfortable and lightweight the material feels. “It’s like butter,” writes one shopper. “Totally airy, so dreamy and it wicks away sweat so fast.”

Buy it ($59; $40)

Nordstrom

Meet the new and improved version of 2022’s cult-favorite Miller Chelsea booties. This time, they have a smaller gusset on the outside, and a handy zipper on the inside to make pulling them on and off significantly easier. They still have the same sleek, trendy look and the leather upper has been treated to be water resistant.

Buy it ($100; $70)

Nordstrom

Beloved by Meghan Markle, Reese Witherspoon and PureWow editors alike, Mother denim does not come cheap. Which is exactly why I strongly suggest adding this timeless cropped jean to cart while it’s a whopping $89 off. What makes them such a must-have? “The denim is buttery soft—as in, you kind of can’t believe how good it feels against your skin,” explains one PureWow editor. “The material yields a fit that almost melds to your curves. I was blown away by how good even the most form-fitting pair felt.”

Buy it ($268; $179)

Nordstrom

I’m calling it now: True & Co.’s buttery-soft bralettes will be some of the first items to sell out during the Anniversary Sale. Which is exactly why you should stock up ASAP. Reviewers say they’re virtually invisible under clothing and the wire-, elastic- and seam-free design is every bit as comfortable as you might imagine.

Buy it ($49; $32)

Nordstrom

Brazilian brand Farm Rio has developed something of a cult following thanks to its vibrant, cheerful prints and unexpected-yet-flattering silhouettes. This floaty top is made of 100 percent cotton to keep you cool and comfortable on even the most humid summer afternoons, and I love that it’s bra-friendly, too. And, as an eco-friendly bonus, the brand plants one tree for every clothing item sold.

Buy it ($170; $115)

Nordstrom

This cute little toiletry case was a surprise best-seller during last year’s Anniversary Sale, and I expect the hype will continue in 2023. The true beauty of the design is in the many ways you can set up its internal storage space. First, there is a removable insert with four slots for brushes, tubes of mascara or your favorite lip gloss. Then there’s a set of dividers that can create up to six other slots within the body of the bag to prevent your shampoo from bumping into and cracking your bottle of perfume. Or you can eschew both for a more general, black-hole approach to packing.

Buy it ($70; $50)

Nordstrom

Denim midi skirts are having a moment this year, but if you’ve been wary about investing in the trend, why not pick one up while it’s 35 percent off? This one has a higher percentage of stretch than most for added comfort, and the lack of a sky-high slit means you won’t have to worry about showing more than anticipated every time you sit down.

Buy it ($218; $140)

Nordstrom

Not looking to clutter your already bursting closet with more new clothing? Why not opt for something a bit more space friendly—not to mention stunningly beautiful—instead? This diamond and green onyx ring was inspired by Southern Italy and has a vintage vibe this fashion editor simply can’t get enough of. It’s also made from recycled gold for an added boost of sustainability. Go on, treat yourself.

Buy it ($225; $150)

Nordstrom

Another winner from Farm Rio, this shirtdress comes with a removable belt and is made from a cotton-viscose blend that’s both sustainably produced and delightfully lightweight. It also has pockets for stowing your phone, lip balm or even some sneaky snacks. Add it to your basket to save more than 30 percent during the Anniversary Sale.

Buy it ($229; $150)

Nordstrom

This timeless tote is made from supple leather that truly will only get better the more you use it. It comes with attached leather shoulder straps, a removable leather crossbody strap and a removable canvas crossbody strap for a fun contrast if you prefer. There is one large outer pocket, as well as a zippered pocket on the inside for smaller items.

Buy it ($188; $125)

Nordstrom

This has to be one of the best wedding guest dresses under $100 I’ve spotted this summer. I love that it’s bra friendly, and can be made to work for any number of dress codes. It does have a decent amount of stretch, and, if the bold floral print isn’t really your thing, it also comes in classic black for a more timeless appeal.

Buy it ($89; $60)

Nordstrom

Layer this comfy-cozy cardi over anything and everything. The super-soft knit is incredibly comfortable, but not too heavy, so you can still get plenty of use out of it while the weather is hot. It also comes in multiple colors, so you might want to consider stocking up on more than just one while they’re $29 off.

Buy it ($79; $50)

Nordstrom

Simple, chic and oh-so breathable, this mini shirtdress is a total no brainer, in my opinion. It’s also made from an eco-friendly blend that’s a bit lighter than your traditional chambray. Pick one up now to wear with colorful sandals and statement earrings, then layer it over black leggings and loafers come fall.

Buy it ($168; $110)

Nordstrom

These sporty kicks are incredibly cool-looking, to be sure, but they’re also wonderfully supportive to keep your feet happy even while walking around all day long. The cushy, foam insole strikes the ideal balance between supportive and soft, and the mesh upper has better breathability than all-leather styles. Note: Nike tends to run small, so you may want to go up one from your usual size, especially if you have wider feet.

Buy it ($85; $70)

Nordstrom

Few things improve my mood better than slipping into a fresh new pair of socks. But it’s even better when buying those socks helped give back to those in need—Bombas donates a much-need item (like socks, underwear, T-shirts, etc.) to homeless shelters across the U.S., including purchases made on Nordstrom. So if you’re starting to notice a few too many holes appearing in your old favorite running socks, it might be time to add this comfy, durable three-pack to cart.
