Blackpink Takes Buckingham Palace in Royal-Ready Fashion

  • November 26, 2023

Blackpink in your area! Well…if you’re in the United Kingdom, that is. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol’s state visit to London has birthed one of the most noteworthy international pop-culture crossovers in recent memory: K-Pop group Blackpink at Buckingham Palace.

Not since the Spice Girls palled around with Prince Charles in 1997 has a girl group of this magnitude visited with the now-King. Their contribution to Korean culture wasn’t lost on Charles, who shouted out the group in his address, much to their surprise. While he nodded to Korean contributions to British culture—including Squid Games, BTS, and Bong Joon-ho’s filmography—he lauded the K-Pop group for their environmentalism. “I applaud Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé, better known collectively as Blackpink, for their role in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience as Ambassadors for the U.K.’s Presidency of COP 26, and later as advocates for the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals,” he said.

The bandmates marked the momentous occasion with their own takes on regal fashion. Jisoo pulled a black, textured puff-sleeved dress from Christian Dior’s resort 2024 collection, which hails from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s ode to Frida Kahlo. Keeping the look in the family, Jisoo carried a Dior monogram top-handle purse as well. Rosé, who was seen chatting with King Charles after the dinner, wore a black strapless velvet dress with a sweetheart neckline, which she coordinated with a bow in her hair. She completed her classic look with a black pointed-toe pump.

Jennie contrasted with her bandmates in a sweet, bridal ensemble from Lihi Hod. The long-sleeved dress was simple, but elegant thanks to its off-the-shoulder neckline and train, which she dressed up with a black platform sandal and a sparkly clutch. Lisa, the only to venture out of neutrals, opted for an aquamarine

Queen Camilla looked radiant as she stepped out in a blue tunic and trousers paired with an extravagant pair of diamond earrings on Wednesday night.

Queen Camilla has been wearing a lot of blue lately, including a bold blue jumpsuit and the blue dress which she teamed with a classic trench coat.

While she’s never been a key figure when it comes to fashion, with royal fans generally favoring the style of Kate Middleton, this has completely turned around since Camilla has become Queen.

And she didn’t disappoint on Wednesday night, when she and King Charles attended the Animal Ball at Lancaster House to mark the 20th anniversary of the wildlife conversation charity Elephant Family.

Camilla, who shunned quiet luxury with lavish jewelry at Ascot, wore the perfect outfit for the event, sporting a long, floaty blue tunic complete with subtle silver embellishments in vertical stripes and a short v-neck.

While on first look it may look like Camilla is wearing a dress, she actually teamed her statement tunic with a pair of matching wide leg trousers.

She completed the look with a pair of silver and white satin ballet pumps, bringing in the silver embellishment of her tunic.

And adding a touch of glamour to the look, Camilla wore her white gold and diamond Van Cleef and Arpels clip-on three motif earrings from the Magic Alhambra collection which cost a staggering $59,299 (£46,900).

Queen Camilla’s bold fashion move as she is welcomed by the President of the German Bundestag

Queen Camilla’s bold fashion move likely caught fans’ attention as she stepped out in Germany wearing a daring dress and a “lucky” symbol.

From the item Queen Camilla won’t wear in public from now on since becoming Queen Consort last year to Queen Camilla’s signature style feature being a tunic neckline, she’s used to balancing her own fashion preferences with royal traditions for formal events. On March 29 she and King Charles arrived in Germany for a three-day tour and already her outfits have wowed. Queen Camilla looked chic in a bold head-to-toe blue outfit that morning before swapping into a magnificent floor-length gown and a diamond encrusted tiara for a State Banquet that evening.

Now Queen Camilla’s bold fashion move and “lucky” symbol has showcased once again her flair for formal looks which make a statement.

Queen Camilla opted for a leopard-print shirt dress under a complimentary tailored brown coat as His Majesty addressed the German Bundestag (the German Federal Parliament). The royal couple also visited a food market on Wittenbergplatz wearing the same outfits, giving fans another glimpse of this neutral yet daring outfit.

Queen Camilla’s long-sleeved, midi-length dress was clearer as she was seated at the Bundestag. Her brown coat featured an asymmetric-style collar and a wrap detail at the waist. She accessorized with black gloves, an elegant brown handbag and brown mid-heel court shoes. In terms of clothing, though, it’s very unusual and the clever way Queen Camilla incorporated it into her overall look made it subtle under her more classic coat.
